Do I need an appointment?

Yes. Repairs are carried out on an appointment-only basis so we can give your device the right time and attention. Please contact us on WhatsApp before visiting to arrange your repair.

Is my repair covered by a warranty?

Yes. We provide a minimum 30-day warranty on repairs. This covers manufacturing defects with the fitted part or repair, but does not cover accidental, liquid or physical damage caused after the device has been returned.

Do you offer no fix, no fee?

For specific, clearly identified repairs such as screen replacements, we work on a no-fix-no-fee basis. Devices with an unknown fault, or where the reported issue is inaccurate, require diagnosis and may be subject to a £25 bench fee.

Should I back up my data first?

Yes, wherever possible. Although we have not experienced data loss through our repairs, we recommend making an iCloud, Google or computer backup before your appointment. Limitless Repairs cannot be held responsible for data loss that may occur.

How long does a diagnostic take?

Our full diagnostic procedure for an unknown fault normally takes 24–48 hours. Once the fault has been identified, we will explain the findings, expected repair cost and likely next steps.

How long will my repair take?

Repair time depends on the device, the fault and parts availability. Straightforward repairs may be completed quickly, while board-level, liquid-damage and intermittent faults can take longer. We will give you the clearest estimate possible when booking.

What if you discover another fault?

If we find an additional fault during the repair, we will let you know before carrying out extra work. Please note that the cost of the originally requested repair will still apply where that repair has been completed.

What condition details should I tell you?

Please tell us if the device is water-damaged, has been opened or repaired elsewhere, has suffered a heavy impact, or has any other pre-existing issue. Accurate information helps us diagnose it safely and provide a realistic estimate.

What should I include in my enquiry?

Send the device make and exact model, a short description of the fault, what happened before it started, and clear photos where physical damage is visible. This helps us advise you more accurately before your appointment.

Will I be contacted before extra work?

Yes. If diagnosis reveals work outside the original repair, we will explain what we found and provide the additional cost before proceeding. No unexpected additional repair will be carried out without your agreement.

Which games consoles do you repair?

Can a broken PS5 or Xbox HDMI port be repaired?

In many cases, yes. A physically damaged HDMI port can often be replaced using microsoldering. The console should first be inspected because nearby components or circuit-board connections may also be damaged.

Why does my console overheat or switch itself off?

Dust build-up, restricted airflow, a blocked heatsink, fan faults or degraded thermal materials can cause a console to run hot, become noisy or shut down during play. Depending on the model and diagnosis, servicing may include internal cleaning, new thermal paste or pads, and liquid metal replacement on consoles that use it, such as the PS5. Liquid metal must be handled and applied correctly, so this work should be completed by an experienced repair technician.

What does it mean if my console turns on but shows no picture?

A no-display fault can be caused by a damaged HDMI port, a faulty HDMI retimer or encoder, damaged circuit-board connections, incorrect video settings or another internal component. Testing the console with a known-working cable and screen can rule out simple connection problems, but an internal fault will need diagnosis.

Can you repair a console that will not turn on?

Many no-power faults can be repaired. Possible causes include a damaged power connector, a faulty power supply, a short circuit or a failed component on the main board. We diagnose the cause before recommending the appropriate repair.

Do you repair disc drives and consoles that will not read games?

Yes, disc-reading and disc-drive faults can often be assessed and repaired. The cause may be a worn laser, a damaged loading mechanism, a drive-board problem or debris inside the drive. Please do not force a disc into the console if the mechanism is jammed.

Will repairing my console erase my games or saved data?

Many hardware repairs do not require the console's storage to be erased. However, data can never be guaranteed when a device is faulty, and some storage, system-software or main-board repairs may affect access to saved data. Back up or synchronise important saves before repair whenever the console still allows you to do so.

Should I keep using a console that is overheating?

No. If your console displays a temperature warning, becomes excessively hot, develops an unusually loud fan or repeatedly shuts down, turn it off and arrange an inspection. Continuing to use an overheating console may make the underlying fault worse.
